HEY FRIEND, I'M LIBRYIA!
I could've lived anywhere in the world. I chose Tulsa, OK.
I know you're probably making a face at me, but, friend, it was an EXCELLENT decision! Not only did I get to collect $10,000, which I later used to purchase a home, but I also made lifelong friends, connected with other professionals whom I now collaborate with, got embedded into an incredible small business ecosystem, and leaned into new hobbies!
I've shared a lot about my experience with Tulsa Remote and this sparked some questions about who is eligible, how to apply, and more. This page should answer those questions. When you're ready to apply, click below!

FAQ
Who is the ideal candidate for this program?
The ideal candidate for Tulsa Remote is a fully-employed individual with the flexibility to work anywhere, who does not currently reside in Oklahoma or work for a company based in Oklahoma, and is looking for a community to call home. While the program is only a one-year commitment, the ideal candidate is open to calling Tulsa their home long-term.
Am I eligible if I'm self-employed?
Applicants who are self-employed are welcome to apply for Tulsa Remote. Please keep in mind that each application is reviewed on an individual basis.
What is the application process like?
If you meet the eligibility requirements listed above, the next step is to complete an application.
- The team strives to review all qualifying applications within four weeks of submission.
- If you are selected for the next round of reviews, you’ll be invited to a 30-minute virtual interview with a member of the Tulsa Remote staff. We look forward to learning more about you and your interest in Tulsa. During the interview, you will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the program, the Tulsa Remote community, and our wonderful city. Within two weeks of your interview, you’ll receive an update on your application status.
- If you are selected to move forward at this stage, you’ll be required to complete a background check and income verification before we continue the process. This can take up to three weeks from the time you initiate your background check. Once you’re approved, there is a 12-month window to move to Tulsa.
- When you’re settled, we’ll work with you to (1) verify you’ve signed a qualifying lease or purchased a qualifying home, and (2) ensure you’ve attended a new member orientation. After that, you’ll be eligible to start receiving grant money.
Are there income requirements to be eligible to apply?
Applicants must be employed full-time, and provide proof of income as part of the application process.
When will I receive the grant for my move?
The first disbursement is delivered after a lease has been signed or a qualifying home has been purchased and approved, and accepted members have completed their move to Tulsa and attended member orientation.
If I need to leave Tulsa after moving will I have to pay back the grant money I have received so far?
We understand that things come up and that life happens. All early program exits are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Tulsa Remote reserves the right to withhold or prorate some or all of the program incentive.
We believe the future is bright for Tulsa, and we believe you can be a part of that future.
